You can’t do everything yourself … Stop trying

I’ve always been a firm believer in task delegation … That’s why I use bundles like grunt and **gulp 😂

No really, if someone can do something better than you can, and is willing to, let him or her do it.

Play to your strengths.

It sounds like common knowledge, yea?

Something everyone should know and practice, yea?

If you’ve been reading my articles, you’d know when I take this tone, then the answer is probably NO.

I like to think I’m a good software developer … I can be quite creative at solving problems, and have solved quite a few.

One thing I’ve always doubted I lack is design skill 😐

Really? You’re gonna laugh at my pain?

It was confirmed this morning … I’d been re-structuring and re-factoring an old tic-tac-toe game implementation.

I asked a friend to help me with the re-design.

He took a few minutes and what he came up with blew me away, strengthened my opinion of how my visual-design skills just plain suck, and made me promise to always delegate my design tasks.

Ermm, don’t laugh too much … I’ve yabbed myself already, see?

What I came up with

VS

What a proper designer did

What I’ve learned?

See, we have limits; You and I. Knowing them makes us stronger … For then, we can guard them.

Surround yourself with people who make up for your flaws.

NB: The designer is Alonge Oluwatobi.
